Contact lens cleaner review
Contact lens cleaner review: Except for disposables, all contact lenses need regular daily cleaning.
This gets rid of the buildup of protein and fat cells which float from the eyeball and stick to the lenses.
Cleaning and disinfection is necessary to prevent germs, funguses, amoeba and other tiny nasties from causing an
eye infection.
Most contact lens cleaners use chemicals to break down the sticky deposits on the contact lenses, and to kill
off the nasties for you.
But there are specialist contact lens cleaners, too, devices which use heat, vibration or a combination to
disinfect and clean the lenses.
Heat cleaning is used with RGP or hard lenses. It cannot be used with soft lenses, because of their high water
content.
