Special Effect FX Lenses
Special effect FX lenses came on the scene after being used, to great effect, in Hollywood movies.
And, boy, weren't we freaked out the first time we saw Jack Nicholson's eyes in Wolf, or the Red Sclera eyes
worn by La Magra in Blade.
And there were Lestat's and Louis' strange eyes in the horror flick Interview with the Vampire.
Looking for eye care and especially special effect fx lenses information.
Other special effects lens designs included: Blackout, Black Wolf, Blue Rave, Computer Chip, Fire, Flower Power,
Green Leaf, Green Rave, Green Reptile, Manson, Moon & Star, Pink Rave, Red Cat, Red Vampire, Smiley, Spider
Web, Spiral, Star Fire, Target, White Cat, White Snowflake, Yellow Cat, and Zombie.
All of these are special effect fx lenses you can buy but, being special FX jobs, they aren't priced as cheaply as
ordinary contact lenses or even cosmetic lenses. While I was researching this, the price tags ranged from $80 up to
$349. The median prices were $170 or $300, so you'd better have pockets almost as deep as a Hollywood producer!
The lower-priced options in theatrical lenses would appear to be those from Crazy Lenses or Wild Eyes, at a much
more stomachable price - around $100 for one pair when I looked, but it could well be different by the time you
read this.
Just one last thing in your hunt for special effect fx lenses... Never share or swap lenses with anyone.
