Unpowered Color Contacts

Unpowered color contacts are color contact lenses with no dioptre eye-correction built in to them.

Therefore, any unpowered color contacts are for cosmetic purposes only; like changing the color of your eyes as a beauty enhancement thing.

Otherwise, unpowered color contacts may be used to get people's attention by looking scary or creepy. Examples of this would be 'Cats Eye' or even 'Lizard Eye' lenses.

There are two things to remember about unpowered color contacts, however. The first is that you've got to maintain really strict cleanliness on anything you touch to your eye - or risk eye infections. For this reason, you never, ever, wear someone else's lenses.

And the second thing is that even cosmetic or special effects unpowered color contacts need to be fitted to the shape of your eyeball. Therefore you should get a prescription which defines the curve of your cornea (eye lens). And get someone who's an experienced contact-lens user to show you how to put 'em in and take 'em out... and how to clean and care for your contact lenses properly.

It seems a chore, but it's done to keep your eyes safe from infection.
